Earlier this week, the New York Times tells the tale of a comparable streak, still going strong in the world of science and climate change. Share it with the football fans in your life, and even people who aren’t football fans! This record began over 50 years ago, with Charles David Keeling, a scientist who recognized the link between human caused global warming and the level of CO2 in our atmosphere. Dr. Keeling began the incredible task of taking daily samples of CO2 in the atmosphere, and creating an incredible record that stands as indelible proof of humans “triumph” over nature. These recordings are being measured, regardless of rain, snow, sunshine, or volcanic eruptions, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean on the top of the Mauna Loa Volcano.
In case you missed our visit to Mauna Loa and our talk with the scientists up there, join Climate Mama as we recount our adventure which took place almost a year ago this week, as we climbed to the top of a volcano.
