3 Ways to “Give Back” During the Holidays: #GivingTuesday and Beyond!

Share

Giving Tuesday which was launched this year by some amazing partners gives you the opportunity THROUGHOUT the year to support your favorite non-profit or community, national or international organization that is “doing good.” By giving your time, money or both to a cause that you care deeply about you and your family can “do good” too.

GIVING BACK DURING THE HOLIDAYS

Here are 3 Giving Tuesday ideas that we are supporting and which are all easy ways for you and your family to “give this holiday” in a special way that that also “GIVES” back.

1. Give a gift to a child impacted by climate change, extreme weather and man-made disaster by supporting The Mother’s Project Toy Drive. Help a family affected by the Gulf oil spill and/or Hurricane Sandy today!

2. Save a life this Christmas through Maternity Worldwide, one of the organizations that the Global Team of 200 is helping to promote. No mother should die during child birth. Maternity Worldwide is a British based organization working in 11 developing countries to help save the lives of women and children in childbirth. Learn more about this organization by visiting their home page. Give someone you care about the “Safe Birth Certificate” and enable them to GIVE a “gift” to a mother in a developing country – a safe delivery for her baby!

3. Join elementary school students at Sun Valley School in California and more then 85,000 others who have signed a petition asking Crayola to establish a convenient take-back program for Crayola plastic markers. Specifically, the Sun Valley School kids want used Crayola plastic markers to be recycled into new Crayola products that can be used again and again. Grab the kids in your life, sign the petition and watch their slide show. With the help of Mr. Land – a “Climate Papa” extraordinaire, school volunteer and children’s author – these kids have been empowered to make a difference on something they care deeply about. Show your kids just how “powerful” kids can be!

Climate Mama
