At Climate Mama we are slowly turning into “techno” nerds, as we get more and more reliant on our Blackberrys and iPhones; using them for everything from the “regular” Smartphone stuff like e-mail, text, and oh my goodness, a phone…. to things like the Yellow Pages, restaurant reviews, language translators, and even the occasional “game” (okay, most of the time our kids are putting the games on the phone, but we do get to play them once in a while…) We wanted to share with you our “latest” and “greatest” new iPhone App, one we picked out all by ourselves! Not only was it free, but after only 3 days, it has proven to be incredibly useful! We wanted to share it with you, and suggest that you consider getting it to!
The app is called Skeptical Science, and it provides access, at your fingertips, to global warming skeptics arguments. (To all our “skeptics” fans in the audience, take a look, you will definitely learn something!!)The App was launched in February with the goal of explaining what peer reviewed science has to say about global warming. Again, the key word is “peer” reviewed which means that the site isn’t giving you information from only one individual source, which is where many of the climate skeptic arguments come from, rather the answers are from scientific studies that have many people involved in testing and proving the arguments presented.
Stay tuned for updates of this App as John Cook, the author of Skeptical Science tells Climate Mama that “there is an accompanying blog on the way!” Three cheers John, and thanks for a great resource!
