Climate Mama has teamed up with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in the fight against global warming by becoming a Pledge Driver for the ENERGY STAR Pledge. Join our team NOW and make your New Years Pledge on behalf of the environment!
When you pledge, you are making a commitment to save energy and money, and to fight global warming by taking energy-saving actions in your home, i.e. changing a light to an ENERGY STAR qualified model, enabling your computer to power down when not in use, installing and using a programmable thermostat correctly with pre-programmed settings, choosing products that have earned the ENERGY STAR, and more. Taking these actions will also save energy and money.
To date, nearly two million people across the nation have pledged to take small, energy-saving steps that can change the world. If every American household took part in the pledge, we would save more than $18 billion in annual energy costs and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 18 million cars Climate Mama has set a goal of reducing 350,000 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions. Click on the link and become a part of the Climate Mama Campaign. With your help we hope to reach our goal in early 2010!
Thank you and make sure to check back with us in the New Year! We want to share with you our greetings and report from the top of the Mauna Loa volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii, where we will go to learn more about how data on carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is collected, and why it is critical that we pay attention to what this data has to say!!
