Actually, it’s pretty much the same thing. No, the world didn’t end on December 21st, but we are heading straight for the CLIMATE CLIFF. The zombies must be in control – otherwise why would we NOT be doing something so we could turn ourselves around and head in the direction of a safer and more sustainable world?
Climate Facts:
November 2012 was the 333 consecutive month of above average global temperatures.
1n July 2012, according to NASA, 97% of Greenland’s ice sheet had some surface melting, compared with a normal melt of about 50%.
2012 will be the warmest year on record for the US (NOAA).
In 2012 there were 11 extreme weather and climate events in the US each exceeding $1 billion. In 2011 there were 14.
As of December 2012, more then half of the lower 48 states are experiencing the most sever drought since the Dust Bowl of the 1930’s.
And don’t get us talking about Superstorm Sandy and no Halloween in New Jersey because of extreme weather, two years running…
So, ‘nuf said. Seems the Mayans were wrong on this one…but according to world scientists, we may not get much more time or many more chances to try to “get it right” and avert our impending CLIMATE CLIFF; infinitely more real then our Fisacl Cliff. So, isn’t it time we at least began to try, for our KIDS sake..?
